About FieldServiceCompare

FieldServiceCompare is an independent review site for field service management software, focused on what actually works for small HVAC contractors with 1–10 technicians.

Why this site exists

Most software review sites bury the lede. They publish a wall of vendor-supplied bullet points, slap a sponsored "winner" on top, and hope the affiliate cookie pays the rent. I've operated in HVAC for 15 years — I've sat with techs who couldn't reschedule a job from a driveway because the app crashed, owners who switched platforms three times in two years, and dispatchers who maintain spreadsheets next to the SaaS they pay for. The reviews on most sites don't reflect any of that.

Every review here is written from the operator's perspective. I look at five things, in this order:

  1. Published pricing. Hidden pricing is a tax on small shops.
  2. Mobile experience. Techs live in the app. Desktop is for accountants.
  3. Onboarding speed. If first invoice takes 30 days, the platform lost.
  4. Public complaints. Reddit, G2, Capterra. Patterns matter more than star ratings.
  5. Unhappy-path handling. Reschedules, partial payments, cancellations — the cracks that show under real pressure.

How we make money

We use affiliate links. When you sign up for software via our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Rankings are editorial — they are never adjusted for commission rate or vendor relationship. Our top-rated pick in any category will sometimes be a vendor that pays us less than a competitor. That's the deal we make with readers.
